This was my FIRST safari ever and first trip to India. I am the best friend mentioned in another review. We chose Nature Safari India to organize our trip to Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks and have been nothing but pleased with their services from our planning phase in the USA to the end of travel. The skill of the transporters driving us from 4 hours to one location and 6 hours to another location through busy villages and not hitting a single moped rider, cow, goat, bull or stray dog was phenomenal. . I give high praises to Deepkul, our agent as his attention to our needs was without hesitation. They booked for us on our first night in New Delhi an overnight stay at the Oberoi Gurgaon, what an impressive hotel! We then had the pleasure to spend 3 nights at the Kanha Jungle Camp where we went on safari twice a day and spotted our first tiger. Meals were traditional Indian cuisine and the staff was extremely eager to take of us. Accommodations were comfortable, the room had air conditioning and two bathrooms. We concluded our trip with 4 nights at the Treehouse Hideaway in Bandhavgarh where the meals were very tasty and presented like a multi star resort. The chef even shared his recipes with me for me to give a try at home preparations. The accommodations here were rustic and very private with air conditioning and bed netting. Both of our Naturalist/Drivers in Kanha and Bandhavgar were familiar with the parks and where to find the “stars” of the trip…the animals.....

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to India organised by Sharad Vats from Tiger Safari India. We had originally planned to go on this trip in 2020 and Sharad patiently kept rearranging the dates until we finally felt ready to travel this year. It was absolutely worth waiting for. We had asked Sharad for a bespoke trip for three people to allow us to hopefully see tigers and to revisit the Taj Mahal which we had seen thirty years ago. The trip could not have gone better with well organised transfers between National Parks and later travelling from Delhi to Agra. We visited three National Parks: Kanha, Pench and Tadoba spending four nights in each place at very good lodges. We would especially like to thank the staff at Singinawa Jungle Lodge in Kanha for their warm welcome to India and even taking the trouble to make a cake to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The lodge was beautiful and the cabins were comfortable and nicely decorated. We had two chances to watch some tribal dances which were very interesting. Kanha was also special for us as with our excellent naturalist, Sanjay, we were lucky enough to see tigers on our first drive! We began to think Sanjay was a magician, as we also had a close encounter with a large male tiger on our third drive. The forest in Kanha is also very beautiful with an abundance of sal trees.

Joy! This was my FIRST tiger safari! My best friend and I chose Nature Safari India to organize our trip to Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks. I have nothing but rave reviews for Nature Safari India. Deepkul, our agent, was phenomenal! Deepkul arranged everything for us, with attention to details we had no clue about. Deepkul was always available for any questions via whatsapp chat/calls, helped us with flights, getting our visas and provided helpful tips. I was impressed BEFORE leaving the USA. During our time in India, all the staff at Nature Safari India were courteous, friendly and helpful. The jungle treehouses were fantastic, adding a more unique experience to our trip. Deepkul always checked in on us each day to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. He even had someone track me down during a game drive to bring me money because I had run out of rupees. Our Naturalist/Driver, Sanjay, is the “tiger whisperer” because we were seeing 3-4 tiger sightings daily!!! AND he also found the elusive leopard for us! Founder, Sharad Vats, also called us. Overall, I have to say Nature Safari India made this my most memorable trip. They offer a personalized touch not often found in tour companies. They CARE! I plan to travel again with Nature Safari India. I recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

After a very succesfull Tiger-safari with "Nature Safari India" in 2022 we decided to return to India this year. This time we focussed on bird-watching and bird-photography, together with Mr Deepkul Chetri, who was always very quick to respond and gave us very good advice, we set up a 3-week programme in the Nort-East of India. We visited Nameri NP, Kaziranga NP (with a lot of Rhino's!!), Mishmi Hills, Dibru Saikhowa, Dihing Patkai where we did amazing birding trips, nature walks and boat-safari's. We ended with 3 days jeep safari's in Corbett NP where apart from the many birds we saw also 2 Tigers and a Leopard. Again it was a very succesfull adventure, everything was perfect organized, very good naturalist-guides, smooth transfers and good accomodations (Wathai Heritage Bungalow is realy an amazing experience...). Special thanks to Deepkul for making this trip again unforgettable,

We spent 3 weeks in India, visiting 4 tiger reserves as well as some of the cities. Can't recommend this company enough - Sharad was always very quick to respond to my questions and nothing was too much trouble. At every turn we were met and escorted by either a driver or, while in Delhi by Deep who was always there, smiling, to greet or farewell us on the next sector of our trip. During our visit to Vrindavan for the Holi festival, we were guided and protected by another member of the team, whose patience and care was just amazing.I would return to India just to book with Nature Safaris again.

Bandhavgarh National Park has a history of being called by several names; some call it “The Temple of the Tiger after the famous documentary by Harry Marshall. Some have christened Bandhavgarh as the “Fort of the Tiger”, because of the presence of the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort. This Fort is about two thousand years old. Lot of Kingdoms, like the Maghas, Vakatakas, and Chandel Kings have ruled this Fort over the past few centuries. They all left a deep footprint in the area, but somehow, they could not survive the changing times. But one King who was present before the humans laid their foot on this pristine land, and still roams free in his Kingdom…is the Tiger. He protects his Kingdom selflessly and fiercely. The whole geography of the area around them has changed, but one thing that has not is his determination to never give up against adversities. They have adapted well to the changing times.

Today when he walks in his Kingdom, the convoy of tourist vehicles follow his majesty. When he sits on the dirt tracks in the forest, everything around stands still except the camera shutter. When he sleeps in the bush or lazes in the water, they all patiently await to wake up to catch his glimpse. Such is his aura today in Bandhavgarh. His glory has only expanded over the centuries as we all now know his importance to the environment.

Bandhavgarh is one forest that makes all the visitors fall in love with it. A few years back some old inhabitants of Bandhavgarh, the Indian Gaur were shifted to Bandhavgarh from Kanha after they left Bandhavgarh for some mysterious reasons in 1997. Their numbers have grown significantly. Similarly, a herd of elephants came to Bandhavgarh from the neighboring state and have stayed put for over five years now. Following them, another smaller herd of their community came and made Bandhavgarh their new home. Some people who visited Bandhavgarh as tourists also fell in love with the place and have chosen to spend their lives here. Many visitors who come on tiger safaris in Bandhavgarh dedicated themselves to tiger conservation. Such is the charisma of the tigers of Bandhavgarh.

The only thing that is more beautiful than the tigresses of Bandhavgarh is their cubs. The tigresses so proudly show them off that one cannot help but fall in love with them, and come back again and again on tiger safaris in Bandhavgarh to see them grow.
